Empower Others – Let Them Decide the How

Here’s something to think about it… When empowering someone through delegation as an example, provide them the objective/goal of the item you are delegating and let them decide how to get it done. So often we fall victim to telling people exactly the way we do it or have done it or want it done. However, if you empower your people to accomplish the objective/goal, then let them decide their approach – lots of times, you’ll benefit from innovative, or dare I say, more efficient ways to do something. So, my question to you:

  • What benefits have you seen from empowering others to accomplish the objective/goal and not dictating how it gets accomplished?
